Counter Sales Associate

Counter Sales Associate Location: Omaha, NE We are seeking a Counter Sales Associate to blend high‑energy customer interaction with meaningful operational support in a dynamic industrial environment. Responsibilities Partner with customers to provide industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and related supplies. Serve as a trusted guide, advising customers on tools, hardware, and materials needed to complete their projects. Demonstrate equipment use and share insights on product quality to help customers pioneer new solutions. Ensure adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external partners, fostering long‑term relationships. Accurately complete required paperwork, including coding, costing, and pricing. Manage order entry and process transactions; assist the team with the reconciliation of deposits. Coordinate with customers and team members via phone, e‑mail, and in person on costs and delivery. Contribute to an outgoing call strategy to support branch growth. Coordinate the transfer of merchandise between locations to meet customer needs. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a supportive manner with customers, vendors, and colleagues. Stock shelves and maintain welcoming showroom displays to provide an excellent customer experience. Coordinate cylinder movement and pallet organization. Qualifications HS Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 2+ years of experience in product, warehouse, or sales environments (or an equivalent combination of education and life experience). Excellent customer service skills and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced setting. Experience in industrial retail, inside sales, or inventory control is a plus. Attention to detail in handling transactions. Availability for occasional overtime when needed. Must be able to operate in a drug‑free workplace. Preferred Qualifications Background in gas, welding, or safety supplies. Familiarity with SAP, Google, or MS Office applications. Detailed understanding of SAP and PROS functionalities. Ability to communicate clearly and warmly with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds. Benefits Base pay plus bonus opportunities.
