About the Role

The Company is in search of a General Counsel to provide strategic leadership in legal advisory and governance. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a team of legal advisors, providing expert legal advice on a wide range of issues, and ensuring that the organization's activities are in compliance with legal frameworks. This role requires a professional with a strong background in corporate and nonprofit governance, contract law, employment law, privacy and data protection, intellectual property, competition law, and dispute management. The General Counsel will also be involved in identifying and managing legal and governance risks, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and supporting the development of internal governance policies. Candidates for the General Counsel position at the company should have a recognized legal qualification, with a preference for those holding a postgraduate degree or specialist training in relevant legal disciplines. A minimum of 10 years' post-qualification legal experience is required, with a background in senior legal advisory or General Counsel roles. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in providing legal advice to senior executives, managing legal professionals, and building relationships with stakeholders. Professional proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of additional languages, as well as an interest in the intersection of technology, sustainability, and international development, is advantageous. The role demands a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently in a collaborative, international, and remotely distributed environment.
