Direct Support Professional

Direct Support ProfessionalDirect Support Professionals (DSPs) provide 1:1 support to individuals in structured home environments.Client needs range from:Low-support PCA-style assistanceSkill-building and independence coachingBehavioral regulation supportMedical monitoring and seizure supportIntensive, exception-rate placements requiring advanced competencyThis is not a passive companionship role. Staff must be engaged, attentive, and capable of following structured service plans.Essential ResponsibilitiesProvide hands-on assistance with ADLs (dressing, hygiene, toileting, mobility, meals)Support structured daily routines and independence goalsMonitor health, seizure activity, and behavioral changes (as assigned)Implement positive support and de-escalation strategiesAssist with meal preparation and light household tasksSupport community participation and transportation needsComplete accurate and timely SOAP documentationFollow incident reporting and emergency protocolsOvernight Shifts (If Assigned)Some placements operate in 24-hour supervision environments.Overnight staff are required to remain awake, alert, and actively monitoring for safety needs throughout the entire shift.RequirementsQualificationsMust be 18 years or olderValid driver's licenseReliable transportation to and from workAbility to provide hands-on careStrong communication and documentation skillsAbility to follow structured service plansProfessional boundaries and reliability requiredMust pass DHS NetStudy 2.0 background checkPreferred Experience1+ year experience as a DSP, PCA, IHS, ICLS, or HCBS caregiverExperience supporting individuals with behavioral dysregulationExperience supporting individuals with seizure disorders or medical needsComfortable working evenings, weekends, and awake overnight shifts
$17.25 - $19.75 per hour
