Staff Accountant

IST Precision Inc. is an advanced engineering and manufacturing company specializing in high-precision equipment and automation systems. For over 25 years, IST has delivered custom solutions across telecommunications, space, life science, automotive, and medical industries. Our 20,000-square-foot facility includes in-house machining, research labs, system assembly areas, and testing labs, enabling full in-house development from concept through commissioning. About the Role We are seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day financial operations of our growing manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accountant to build hands-on experience across accounting, purchasing, and ERP while working directly alongside our leadership. We operate as a lean, engineering-driven organization, so this is a role where you will wear many hats. Day to day, you will work in QuickBooks, help reconcile financial statements, assist with purchasing and vendor coordination, and support our transition to a Sage manufacturing ERP. You'll work closely with our part-time CFO, who provides direction, review, and mentorship, and grow into greater responsibility over time. Primary Responsibilities Perform day-to-day accounting and data entry in QuickBooks Support the monthly close process and reconcile accounts Manage A/P, A/R, and invoicing Maintain clean financial records and internal controls Support budgeting and financial reporting Help maintain inventory and job cost accuracy Prepare schedules and reports to support the CFO's financial reporting Purchasing & Procurement Assist with purchasing of engineering BOM items and operational supplies Maintain purchase order tracking and vendor documentation Help reconcile received goods against purchase orders and invoices Ensure purchasing aligns with project schedules and cost controls Support ERP integration of purchasing processes ERP Implementation Support Assist the CFO and leadership with the Sage ERP rollout Help define financial, purchasing, and inventory processes Ensure data integrity during migration Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required) 1–5 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping; recent graduates and early-career candidates encouraged to apply Familiarity with QuickBooks or a similar accounting system Working understanding of account reconciliations and the monthly close Highly organized, process-driven, dependable, and detail-oriented Willingness to be trained on our Sage manufacturing ERP Exposure to manufacturing, inventory, or job costing is a plus but not required Salary range: $55,000–$70,000, depending on experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
