Line Cook

Description The Line Cook ensures the highest quality of food is served at all times. The Line Cook is responsible for all aspects of their assigned cooking station: sets up and stocks products, cooks and presents dishes according to Katella Deli’s recipes, and cleans, sanitizes and maintains equipment, utensils and tools. Job Duties Preparing quality food items to order for our guests: Following recipe and presentation guidelines to meet or exceed guests’ expectations. Coordinating food order to support timely and efficient delivery to each table. Maintain a safe working environment while ensuring proper food safety and sanitation standards to ensure guest safety. Meeting special guest request while ensuring same quality of standards. Complete kitchen tasks such as line set-up, food preparation, clean-up and breakdown. Actively participate in all restaurant related meetings and training sessions; apply learned skills on-the job. Consistently execute Company policies and procedures. Hours: Various shifts Skills/Qualifications Minimum 2 + years as Line Cook in a high-volume full service restaurant. Must enjoy and be able to succeed positively and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment. Must be able to work quickly in a confined area and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers. Fluent in English and Spanish is preferred but not required. Strong attention to detail with knowledge of weights, measurements, volume and cooking procedures. Continuous use of hands and arms, along with bending, reaching, twisting. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, as needed. Ability to work in elevated temperatures. Knowledgeable in safe food handling and sanitation, along with safety cooking procedures. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
