SVP Consumer Lending

the client is seeking an SVP – Consumer Lending to oversee the efficient and effective operation of the consumer credit function and support key decision-making for consumer loan applications. This role includes staying current on state and federal laws related to lending and collection policies and procedures, and ensuring that consumer lending activities align with operating policies and procedures. key responsibilities include coordinating and overseeing the consumer lending department’s duties to maintain efficient departmental operations, approving loans within established guidelines, and providing strong underwriting expertise across a range of consumer loan types such as direct and indirect auto, home equity, and unsecured products. The position will also support staff development by coordinating training with supervisors, maintaining current and organized departmental manuals, and performing duties related to compliance obligations including monitoring and reporting suspicious activities to the appropriate person. the role requires three or more years of consumer loan underwriting experience, as well as prior supervisory experience. The client expects the successful candidate to have strong attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to multitask while maintaining focus, excellent PC skills, and the capability to mentor or coach team members while completing their own work at a high level. A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration is preferred, and an appropriate combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Confidential
