Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Physical Therapy Assistant at HCA Healthcare, you'll improve the lives of patients by providing individualized care that restores mobility and independence. Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering therapeutic exercises and functional training to help patients regain independence and mobility
• Applying physical therapy techniques and modalities to reduce pain and restore function
• Monitoring patient progress and documenting responses to ensure safe, effective care
• Teaching patients and families how to use assistive devices and follow home exercise programs
• Working closely with PTs, nurses, aides, and the care team to enhance the patient experience and support a culture of excellence
• Provide patient care based on a treatment plan as directed by Physical Therapist Responsible for all aspects of patient care including plan of care, education of patient/family, communication with physicians, and documentation of patient care.
• Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.
• Performs Physical Therapy interventions ensuring they are thoroughly completed in a timely manner.
• Documents all therapy interventions according to policy using function scores.
• Provides patient progress reports to physicians. Attends all planning meetings.
• Assists with preparation of daily schedules and prioritization.
• Communication daily with interdisciplinary team. Enters patient charges.

What qualifications you will need:

• Associate's degree
• State licensure
• BLS
• Direct inpatient rehab experience; one year or more preferred, involving extensive knowledge of rehab/criteria
• Excellent interpersonal skills/communication skills
• Excellent organization/time management skills
• Excellent customer service skills; professional appearance
• Experience in providing educational programs
