Registered Nurse - Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP)Shift Information12-hour night shifts, potentially covering holidays and weekends. Guaranteed 36 hours per week with opportunities for labor call or overtime.Job DescriptionAs a Registered Nurse I (RN I), you will provide compassionate and high-quality patient- and family-centered care through the full nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You are expected to work in both Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct thorough patient assessments and create individualized care plans.Deliver direct patient care across the lifespan while promoting optimal health outcomes.Provide clear, culturally sensitive education to patients and families, fostering health literacy and successful transitions of care.Direct and supervise licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and other ancillary personnel.Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and the broader care team.Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and ongoing professional development.Float to other departments as needed, with appropriate orientation and training.Perform additional duties as assigned to support hospital operations and patient needs.General QualificationsCurrent New Mexico RN license or active Multi-State Compact (eNLC) license.Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from an accredited provider.Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.Education and clinical experience that provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the assigned department.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and critical-thinking skills.Ability to deliver compassionate, culturally competent care across all ages.Strong team player with flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.Commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning.Physical, Environmental & Psychological ConsiderationsFrequent exposure to bloodborne pathogens, body fluids, infectious diseases, and biohazardous materials.Work primarily in a temperature-controlled environment with occasional exposure to varied sounds and emotionally challenging situations.Must be physically able to lift, position, and transfer patients using proper mechanics and assistive equipment.Ability to work effectively under stress, respond calmly to emergencies, and maintain strong problem-solving skills.Team-oriented, adaptable, and resilient in dynamic clinical situations.Department-Specific QualificationsCurrent certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required.Completion of OPS Emergency Workshop and STABLE certification within 12 months of hire.SAFER NM Technician certification preferred.Proficient in all aspects of perinatal care, labor support, delivery, and newborn assessment.Holiday CoverageHoliday coverage is required.Minimum Years of ExperienceLess than 1 year of experience is acceptable.Client Details City Grants State NM
