RN - Clinical Decision Unit

Registered Nurse

This position involves caring for patients in a step-down unit with a focus on providing high-quality clinical care. The facility is recognized as one of the best hospitals in the nation for clinical quality and safety. The unit has 40 beds with patient ratios of 1:5 for step-down and 1:6 for MedSurg. A charge nurse experience or willingness to take on charge responsibilities is appreciated. The focus is on ED decompression and enhancing patient throughput, not merely serving as an overflow unit. You will be responsible for completing admission assessments, medication reconciliations, and initiating acute care orders for admitted patients. A variety of diagnoses are treated on this unit, and a well-rounded nursing background will be beneficial. Advanced skills and experience in this area are preferred. Minimal bedside procedures are performed in this unit's environment. The dress code requires navy blue/white uniforms with appropriate jackets or sweaters. Opportunities for additional experiences in telemetry and transport nursing roles are available. Travel staff often request extensions, indicating a positive working environment.
