Aircraft Mechanic I - Power Plants with Security Clearance

Overview M1 Support Services is looking for an Aircraft Mechanic I (Power Plants) focused on the upkeep of H-60 series aircraft, including the MH60-R model. This role involves supporting the maintenance and repair of various aircraft systems, performing inspections, and ensuring the readiness of the aircraft in a fast‑paced, mission critical environment. Core Responsibilities Perform aircraft system repairs and rebuilds on structure, engines, gearboxes, rotor systems, and avionics using welding, shear metal brakes, rivet guns, drills, etc. Conduct inspections (175‑hour, isochronal, phase) focusing on engine components, hydraulic systems, and replacement of damaged parts. Adjust, repair, and replace electrical wiring systems and accessories to maintain safe operating condition. Perform pre‑flight, thru‑flight, and post‑flight maintenance inspections. Participate in jacking, towing, and moving aircraft; record all maintenance activities. Specialize in engine repair, airframe maintenance, electrical systems, or armament as required. Follow safety procedures, maintain a clean work environment, and ensure compliance with quality standards. Participate in FOD prevention and HAZMAT handling programs. Maintain detailed records in OOMA or comparable system ensuring compliance with 4790 and safety standards. Assign tasks, monitor work, and supervise junior mechanics, ensuring safety procedures are followed. Maintain shop housekeeping. Obtain and maintain Certification CDI (Collateral Duty Inspector) and participate in safety programs and hazardous materials disposal. Manage or coordinate maintenance programs as assigned. Qualifications and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Must read, write, and understand English. Minimum of three (3) years H-60 series aircraft maintenance experience (or equivalent rotary aircraft experience), with at least three (3) years as a CDI/CDQAR. MH60-R experience preferred. Obtain necessary certifications like CDI or QAR. Ability to obtain and maintain required qualifications in line with US Navy maintenance guidelines. Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team, often in cross‑cultural environments. Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and NALCOMIS/OOMA. Tier-3 Background Investigation and possible secret clearance required. Current valid U.S. Driver’s License. Physical & Medical Requirements Must meet physical requirements and pass a medical examination. Must be able to lift up to 50lb. Working Conditions & Hours Must be able to work all shifts. Full‑time employment; however, 40 hours per week is not guaranteed. Working hours are flexible and dependent on flight schedule and overall tasking.
