Transportation Coordinator - Driver

DonorConnect is looking for a part-time Transportation Coordinator to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who is a natural delegator, works well independently and collaboratively, has a background in driving or courier services, and is open to working a variety of shifts.

This position is for weekend evenings working from 7pm-7am on call for a total of 24 hours each week.

As a Transportation Coordinator at DonorConnect, you will play a vital role in our life-saving mission. You will work closely with on-call organ and tissue donation coordinators, providing critical transportation services, including the transport of organ personnel, biological samples, and supplies.

Due to the sensitive and time-critical nature of organ donation, strong critical thinking skills and the ability to adapt to changing timelines are essential. You must also be tech-savvy , as the role involves using digital systems for communication, tracking, and documentation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Maintaining a valid driver's license, TSA registration, and other required licenses/certifications
• Performing fleet maintenance and vehicle upkeep
• Assists the supervisor with projects and reports as needed
• Completing all assigned on-call shifts as scheduled

Minimum Qualifications:

Training/Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Chauffeur's license required within 90 days of employment

Experience Required:

• Minimum 5 years of routine driving experience
• Excellent driving record
• Previous courier experience preferred
• Positions with high levels of interpersonal interaction and communication

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Awareness of the fastest routes to hospitals, labs, and airports
• Awareness of types of transportation needs for DonorConnect tissue and organ cases
• Defensive driving skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to stoop, squat, or bend frequently
• Exposure to patient elements including communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and other common hazards of a clinical setting
• Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
