Senior Manager External Communications

Abbott seeks a Senior Manager of External Communications to develop and execute corporate communications strategy positioning the company as a global healthcare leader. The role involves media relations, content creation across multiple channels, leadership of a media relations team, and close collaboration with executives and divisional stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute external communications strategy positioning Abbott as leading global healthcare company
- Cultivate relationships with consumer, trade, business and financial media globally
- Create multimedia content across digital, social and video channels highlighting company leadership and innovation
- Prepare Abbott executives for media interviews with key messaging and positioning support
- Manage media relations team and internal PITCH team of communications specialists
Requirements
- 8+ years in content development, journalism, or multimedia production
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to simplify complex ideas
- Demonstrated experience in media relations and reputation management
- Proficiency creating and managing social media content and engagement strategies
- Strategic communications planning and execution experience
- Ability to build stakeholder trust and drive business results through communications
- Capability to work effectively amid ambiguity and rapid organizational change
