Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely administration of the company's payroll operations. This role manages end-to-end payroll processing, deduction management, tax compliance, and payroll reporting. The ideal candidate will leverage modern HRIS and payroll software to automate workflows, maintain compliance with labor laws, and provide excellent customer service to employees regarding payroll matters.

salary: $25 - $28 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: High School

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll on a recurring schedule, including the calculation of wages, overtime, deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings.

• Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including filing payroll tax returns and preparing annual W-2 forms.

• Maintain and update employee payroll profiles in the HRIS, handling new hire setups, terminations, salary adjustments, and direct deposit changes.

• Reconcile weekly or monthly payroll registers against general ledger postings and collaborate with the accounting team to resolve discrepancies.

• Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay stubs, tax withholdings, paid time off accruals, and voluntary deductions in a timely and professional manner.

Skills

• ADP (1 year of experience is preferred)
• Workday (1 year of experience is preferred)
• multi state payroll (1 year of experience is preferred)
• 1099s
