Clinical Laboratory Scientist I - 3rd Shift

Abbott seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I to perform moderate and highly complex laboratory testing on clinical specimens during third shift (Tuesday–Friday, 10 PM–7:30 AM) in Madison. The role involves specimen processing, quality control documentation, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting under laboratory procedures. The successful candidate will support daily testing operations while maintaining quality standards and contributing to team objectives.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and highly complex laboratory tests using standard operating procedures
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and prepare reagents
• Perform and document quality control procedures and identify test performance issues
• Mentor new laboratory personnel on procedures and manage daily specimen processing
• Participate in equipment validation, quality assurance activities, and continuing education

Requirements

• Associate degree in laboratory science, biological science, or medical laboratory technology
• 60 semester hours including 24 hours medical laboratory technology or science coursework
• Authorization to work in United States without sponsorship
• Professional knowledge of local, state, and federal laboratory regulations
• Ability to lift 40 pounds and work extended periods seated and standing
• Near vision capability to view samples at close range

Compensation: $25.00 per hour base
