Our client, a world leader in biotechnology and life sciences, is seeking a " Biospecimen Coordinator" for Tucson, AZ .

Location: Tucson, AZ (Onsite)

Duration: Long-term Contract (Possibility Of Further Extension)

Pay Rate: $25 - $30/hr on W2

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Biospecimen Coordinator to join our BioSample Management team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the receipt, processing, tracking, and shipment of biological specimens while ensuring the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and chain of custody. You will work cross-functionally to support laboratory operations, maintain sample integrity, and contribute to continuous process improvements in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, open, and triage incoming biospecimen shipments, ensuring samples are routed to the appropriate testing laboratories.
  
• Perform specimen accessioning and verify demographic and sample information for accuracy.
  
• Conduct quality control checks on sample data entry and labeling to ensure compliance with established procedures.
  
• Communicate with internal teams and clients regarding held, missing, or rejected samples and resolve issues promptly.
  
• Prepare, label, and verify specimens while maintaining complete chain of custody documentation.
  
• Image stained pathology slides and ensure deliverables are completed within established turnaround times.
  
• Coordinate domestic and international sample shipments while ensuring regulatory and company compliance.
  
• Manage and monitor the BioSample Management team inbox, ensuring requests are tracked and completed in a timely manner.
  
• Support process improvement initiatives by participating in workflow optimization projects and implementing operational enhancements.
  
• Maintain accurate documentation and sample records within Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and other tracking databases.
  
• Perform additional laboratory support duties as assigned.
  

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  
• 1–5 years of experience in biospecimen management, laboratory operations, sample accessioning, or a related laboratory environment.
  
• Experience handling biological samples while maintaining strict chain of custody procedures.
  
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with biospecimen management, sample accessioning, or laboratory operations.
  
• Experience using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or other sample tracking software.
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets).
  
• Experience working in a clinical, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, or research laboratory.
  
• Knowledge of laboratory quality systems and specimen handling best practices.
  
• Experience supporting global sample logistics and shipping.
