This role involves the prevention of illness and injury. The RN supports the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. Advocacy in the care of individuals and families is a key responsibility. The RN is accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. This role aligns with the Nurse Practice Act, relevant policies, and ethical codes. A caring and healing environment for patient-centered care is promoted. Key responsibilities include assessing, planning, delegating, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. The RN manages a group of patients, serving as the primary nurse when designated. Educating patients and families in health promotion and disease management is essential. The RN utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications. Shared responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization is expected. Compliance with nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements is mandatory. Participation in the Nursing Shared Governance Model and improvement initiatives is required. The RN actively engages in professional development and completes mandatory education requirements. Integration of nursing research and current evidence into practice is essential. Providing a supportive learning environment for new employees and students is important. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
