The interpreter will serve a consistent set of school buildings, focusing primarily on meaningful one-on-one student interactions.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Completion of interpreter training is required
• Score of 3.5 or higher on the IEPA (Interpreter Evaluation Performance Assessment)
• Experience in educational settings strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team
• Effective communication skills and a compassionate, student-centered approach
• All candidates must hold current, valid licensure and meet all testing and training requirements

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear, effective communication between students, educators, and staff using sign language
• Provide interpretation in various classroom settings and school events
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and foster positive relationships
• Collaborate with DHH educators and classroom support staff to promote access to curriculum
• Support one-on-one and group learning environments, adapting as needed
