Sr Principal Software Engineer

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 7+ years of applied experience.
• We need hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• We require proficiency in one or more of these languages: Rust, Java, Go, or C++.
• We look for demonstrated experience designing and scaling agentic AI-enabled development patterns across teams and functions, including governance for human-in-the-loop validation, traceability, auditability, and secure handling of sensitive inputs and outputs.
• We require a strong understanding of responsible AI use and control expectations at scale, including security and resiliency implications, data sensitivity, and risk-based governance.
• We expect a proven track record of building and operating 24x7 tier-1 online services.
• We need prior experience influencing across functions and teams while delivering value at scale.
• We require experience applying expertise and new approaches to solve complex technology problems across multiple technical disciplines.
• We look for extensive practical cloud-native experience.
• We require expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Familiarity with open-source projects in the OLAP/data stack, such as Apache DataFusion, DuckDB, and Apache Arrow Flight SQL, is preferred.

• We advise and lead strategy and development across multiple products, applications, and technologies within a portfolio.
• We create innovative code solutions and drive new production-code capabilities across teams and functions.
• We set strategy and operating standards for agentic AI-enabled engineering across the portfolio, including guardrails for validation, security, resiliency, and reuse.
• We apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle tooling, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value delivered by automation at scale.
• We translate highly complex technical issues, trends, and approaches for leadership to support informed technology decisions.
• We drive adoption and implementation of technical methods in specialized areas aligned with the latest product development practices.
• We build durable, reusable software frameworks used across teams and functions.
• We influence business, product, and technology partners while managing senior stakeholder relationships.
• We serve as the functions go-to subject matter expert.
• We build and operate 24x7 tier-1 online services.
