BANKRUPTCY & RESTRUCTURING ASSOCIATE ATTORNEYLocation: Chicago, ILHYBRIDOur client, a prestigious AmLaw 100 national law firm, is seeking a talented Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate to join its expanding creditors' rights and financial services litigation practice in Chicago. This position offers the opportunity to work with a sophisticated team representing lenders, special servicers, and other creditors in complex commercial litigation, restructuring, and insolvency matters.Candidate ProfileJD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic recordActive Bar Admission in Illinois, in good standing (admission in Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, or Wisconsin is also welcomed; multi-jurisdictional admission is a plus)3-6 years of substantive experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, creditors' rights litigation, commercial litigation, or related practice areasExperience representing financial institutions and commercial lenders in all stages of litigation, loan enforcement, workouts, and restructuring matters.Significant experience managing day-to-day litigation activities, including fact investigations and case strategy developmentExperience handling commercial foreclosures, receiverships, loan enforcement litigation, and real estate-related disputesExperience managing bankruptcy matters, including motion practice, discovery, e-discovery, and courtroom appearancesFamiliarity with guarantor litigation, post-judgment collection proceedings, and other creditors' rights enforcement mattersExperience with out-of-court workouts, settlement agreements, and forbearance agreementsKnowledge of ancillary litigation matters, including commercial landlord-tenant disputes, is a plusStrong written and oral advocacy skills with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneouslyLarge law firm experience preferredKey ResponsibilitiesRepresent lenders, servicers, and other creditors in bankruptcy proceedings, restructuring matters, and related litigationHandle commercial foreclosures, receivership actions, loan enforcement matters, and collection proceedingsManage all phases of litigation, including pleadings, motion practice, written discovery, depositions, e-discovery, and court appearancesDraft and negotiate workout agreements, settlement agreements, forbearance agreements, and related restructuring documentsDevelop and implement litigation strategies designed to protect client interests and maximize recoveriesCollaborate with attorneys across multiple practice disciplines on complex insolvency, restructuring, and commercial litigation mattersMaintain direct client contact and provide practical, business-focused legal adviceWhy Join Us?This is an exceptional opportunity to join a highly respected Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice that handles sophisticated creditors' rights and insolvency matters for institutional clients nationwide.
