As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Driver in Durham, NC , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you. Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour Job Schedule: Sat 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM Sun 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM How This Role Works: Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment. Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you. Responsibilities Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or drivers by carrying out site‑specific procedures, access control activities, and security‑related policies throughout the location. Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or unusual activity in a calm, problem‑solving manner, and report conditions to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed. Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouse spaces, shipping and receiving zones, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and observe operational concerns. Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or visitor information, and document deliveries, trailers, and other site traffic according to post instructions. Complete detailed activity logs, incident reports, and shift pass‑down notes, and communicate observed hazards, maintenance issues, and security‑related concerns to the appropriate personnel. Minimum Requirements Possess at least 6 months of security‑related experience. Be at least 21 years of age. A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
