About the Position

Job Title: RN - Emergency Department Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ED RN experience required. License: Required License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI required; TNCC preferred. Must-Have: General ED skillset, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with critical care drips, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation. Description: This Emergency Department sees over 200 patients per day. It is a very busy, fast-paced, and acute unit. The unit has 34 beds and 32 vertical care areas. Patient types include all ages and a variety of emergencies. Common diagnoses include stroke, respiratory illness, chest pain, abdominal pain, and diabetic emergencies. The department experiences heavy trauma stabilization. It frequently encounters cases related to gunshot wounds, stabbings, and mental health/substance abuse issues. Staffing ratios are typically RN 1:4 and LPN 1:4 with CNAs at 1:20. Floating to other facilities will be required as needed within the scope of practice. There is a weekend rotation of every other weekend. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Requests for time off will be considered up to 6 days, excluding holidays. Unit culture emphasizes teamwork.
