Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Arlington, VA.Overview:We are seeking a detail oriented and reliable Senior Accountant to support core accounting functions within a dynamic organization. This role will be responsible for general ledger activity, month end close, and financial reporting, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to operate independently.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the month end, quarter end, and year end close processes
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts and financial records
• Assist with preparation of internal and external financial reports
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
• Support audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to requests
• Partner cross functionally to support business initiatives and financial accuracy
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiencies

Skills

• 2-3 years of public Accounting experience (2 busy seasons minimum)
• Excel - Pivot Tables, Formulas and VLOOKUP's

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
