This position involves frequent contact with government clients to assist with the day‑to‑day engineering operations of local agencies. Duties Performs professional engineering and design work for government clients. Prepares reports, plans, specifications, construction schedules and permits for transportation, water/wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects. Obtains and evaluates pertinent field data for proposed construction projects. Prepares engineer’s opinion of probable cost and engineering design calculations. Assists with development plan reviews for compliance with local ordinances. Maintains a good relationship with clients. Prepares permit applications for capital projects. Assists in preparation of proposals for engineering services. Mentors and assists with training Staff Engineers. Delegates specific project assignments to Staff Engineers. Works closely with other disciplines on multi‑discipline projects. Shares responsibility for project schedules and timely completion of projects. Participates in business development activities. Professionally represents the firm at client meetings/hearings. Assists with the preparation and monitoring of project budgets, billing and A/R. Perform other duties incidental to the work described herein.
