Mechanic Intern

The Mechanic Intern will work closely with experienced mechanics to gain practical, on-the-job experience in maintaining and repairing heavy equipment. Responsibilities Collaborate with mechanics to keep all equipment available by completing preventive maintenance schedules. Assist in engine repairs, run diagnostic tests, locate problem sources, and remove and replace faulty parts. Report and document all repairs and maintenance in the work order software system. Learn and assist in correcting equipment deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems. Qualifications Pursuing an associate’s degree in diesel mechanics or a related field. Ability to handle multiple tasks. Detail-oriented, self‑motivated, and able to work independently. Propose solutions to address equipment issues, improve efficiencies, reduce costs, and address safety issues. Ability to learn new skills. Understanding of an array of tools and technical equipment.
