Billing Specialist (Temporary-to-Hire)

This law firm in Washington, D.C. is seeking a Billing Specialist (temporary-to-hire) with SurePoint LMS+ or similar software experience who is available immediately and eager to join their team. In this role, you will own all aspects of the billing process, from new client set up through to distribution of final invoices. Working closely with the firm’s attorneys and accounting team, you’ll ensure billing is completed accurately and in a timely manner while providing exceptional service to clients. If you are someone with previous at least two years of prior law firm billing experience and an eye for detail, this could be the role for you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all new clients and matters set up, maintaining attorney and client fee schedules within SurePoint LMS+.
• Monitor time entries and invoice statuses, ensuring all invoices are prepared and finalized by the due date.
• Generate billing reports, including writing, editing, and revising monthly reports for review.
• Work closely with team members to resolve any issues efficiently, ensure billing accuracy, and completion.
• Ensure all invoices align with the firm’s company policies and procedures.
• Submit e-bills to various clients and external vendors and monitor the status of invoices to ensure any issues are identified and resolved promptly.
• Assist with follow-up of any unpaid invoices and overdue accounts.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experienced. You have at least two (2) years of legal billing experience in a medium-to-large firm.
• Tech-knowledgeable. You have proficient knowledge of SurePoint LMS+, Microsoft Word, and Excel and can navigate legal or professional services billing software programs smoothly.
• Attentive. You have a keen eye for the details and accuracy of invoices.
• Trustworthy. You always handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Committed. You are seeking a temporary-to-hire opportunity and can commit to five days in office per week.

The salary listed reflects the anticipated compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, location, business considerations, and internal equity. Final offer amounts are determined at the employer’s discretion.
