The selected Candidate will oversee a team of professionals in the creation, execution, and administration of contracts as well as international trade compliance. This position will support new / emergent business opportunities (including AUKUS) at Newport News Shipbuilding.Daily Responsibilities for this opening include:Administer, extend, negotiate, modify and terminate standard and nonstandard contractsConduct contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specificationsExamine estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completenessLead / Manage a team of managers, administrators, and analystsPrepare bids; processes specifications, progress, and other reports; advises management of contractual rights and obligations; compiles and analyzes data; and maintains historical informationManagement of import and/or export functionsCore element compliance leadServe as a senior leader guiding cross-functional teams on international trade, export controls, customs enforcement, and global regulatory complianceAdditional Responsibilities include:Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, agency-specific regulations, and internal policies across all contract activitiesCompliance with HII-Corporate policies and procedures for all contract actionsDevelop and implement contract strategies that align with business objectives and mitigate risk.Monitor contract performance and compliance metrics, reporting regularly to senior leadership.Must HaveBachelors degree in a relevant discipline plus a minimum of 10 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience OR a Master's degree in a relevant discipline and 8 years of relevant work experience.Nice to HaveContract negotiation experience including knowledge of applicable FAR and DFARs regulations as well as experience with foreign military sales (FMS) casesExperience with teaming and other business agreementsKnowledge of international trade, import, export, customs, tariffs, and other regulatory compliance mattersWhy HIIWe build the world’s most powerful, survivable naval ships and defense technology solutions that safeguard our seas, sky, land, space and cyber.
