Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Specimen Processor to join our client. The primary responsibilities include specimen processing, data entry, and ensuring all laboratory operations adhere to safety and quality assurance guidelines.

This position is open to those seeking Entry-Level roles within Healthcare seeking to gain experience and longevity with a company. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift available!

Key Responsibilities

• Follow established laboratory procedures for specimen processing and accession.
• Identify correct tubes and containers required for specific test types.
• Accurately enter patient demographics, test codes, and physician information into Antrim.
• Direct specimens to appropriate departments and discard aged samples according to schedule.
• Adhere strictly to safety, infection control, and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen guidelines.
• Participate actively in departmental safety and quality assurance programs.
• Manage laboratory supplies efficiently to minimize waste.
• Specialized Processing: Accession specialty specimens, including Pap smears, biopsy samples, 24-hour urine collections, and microbiology samples.
• Send-Outs & Archiving: Prepare specimens for reference labs, archive samples, and locate missing specimens as needed.
• Operational Support: Attend required in-house training sessions and staff meetings, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficient data entry skills.
• Able and willing to stand for the majority of the shift.
• Experience working in entry-level laboratory environments is preferred.
