About the Position

Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Experience in managing a patient ratio of 2:1 Description: Must have flexibility to float to other units as required. Candidates must reside more than 150 miles from the facility. The unit caters to a mixed ICU, handling medical, surgical, trauma, and open heart patients. Burn patients and ECMO cases are transferred out. Daily census ranges from 12 to 24 patients, with a total of 24 beds available. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and transportation. Special procedures conducted include CRRT, IABP, and Impella management. Skills required include managing ventilated patients, central line care, and hemodynamic monitoring. Candidates must also be familiar with infection prevention protocols and interpretation of arterial blood gases. Daily responsibilities involve the administration of emergency medications and care of patients experiencing multisystem organ dysfunction. Positive drug screens will result in automatic cancellation of the contract. Candidates should refrain from using any substances that may affect drug screening results. Experience with the Altera charting system is preferred but not mandatory. Travel experience in the ICU setting is also preferred. Note that the facility conducts its own drug screening upon arrival, including for marijuana.
