What You'll Be Doing

The Construction Project Manager/Estimator is responsible for overseeing the bidding, tracking, execution, and costing of assigned projects within the Construction Department. In collaboration with the Refrigeration Construction Manager, this role helps determine workload, bid pricing, and oversees materials pricing and procurement. The position is crucial in maintaining consistent communication with general contractors, managing change orders, coordinating project workflows, procuring parts, and handling clerical tasks that support overall project success.


The Project Manager/Estimator will play a key role in building and nurturing relationships with customers to expand the construction teams. They will also work closely with vendors to secure the most competitive pricing and ensure projects are monitored and managed to stay on schedule and within budget.

Min Compensation

USD $80,000.00/Yr.

Max Compensation

USD $95,000.00/Yr.

Responsibilities

• • Collaborates with executive-level management, including the Vice President of Construction and Construction Managers, in the development of performance goals, workflows, and long-term plans
  • Analyzes current operational processes and performance, recommending efficiency improvements that drive GM% improvement and minimize overhead costs
  • Assists department managers in resolving issues that may arise during construction-related work
  • Is responsible for developing and managing operational key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Develops, implements, and monitors day-to-day operational systems and processes, providing visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles for key initiatives
  • Builds and maintains relationships with construction department heads, general contractors, the estimating team, and vendors to make decisions and set strategic goals
  • Works closely with the business development team to respond to business opportunities
  • Cultivates relationships with customers to build and maintain the workload
  • Sets up and monitors projects in Procore from initiation to completion
  • Monitors budgets for active projects
  • Schedules team manpower
  • Collaborates with the Service team and Maverik Management team to ensure they have the necessary materials and resources for successful project handoffs
  • Communicates critical issues and risks to senior leadership and drives them to resolution with consistent objectivity
  • Ensures and manages effective communication with all stakeholders
  • Other related duties, as assigned

Qualifications

• • Excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including advanced skills in Excel (Pivot tables, Vlookup, Macros, If Statements, Formulas)
  • Ability to coordinate, contribute to and work within a cross-functional team
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving capabilities

  • Previous experience building and sustaining strong relationships at multiple levels internally and with external partners
  • Previous experience as a hands-on leader that built and lead highly effective teams
  • Previous experience in Construction/ Electrical/ HVAC Industry

• • Continuously able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, telephone, and computer printer
  • Able to work in office environment
  • Able to alternate between sitting and standing, as needed throughout the day
  • Occasionally able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Occasionally requires walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching
  • Requires climbing ladders occasionally
  • Travels onsite to locations, as needed
