Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Cardiac Step-Down (PCU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and active NC or compact RN license for a 13-week night shift contract.

Details

• Work in a 15-bed Medical Cardiac Step-Down unit (E3 Heart Tower) within a large, Level II trauma center and Magnet®-designated hospital
• Patient population includes post-EP lab and post-cath lab cases
• RN-to-patient ratio of 3-4:1
• Specialized equipment includes sheaths, telemetry monitoring, and IV drips (gtts)
• EMR: Cerner
• Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Requires 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Floating required to all Med-Surg and step-down units

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for PCU RNs
• Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac step-down or PCU nursing experience required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Charge nurse experience is preferred
• A calm, flexible personality is the ideal fit for this unit
• Night shift staffing includes a free charge nurse, 4 RNs, and 1 PCT
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
