This position focuses on enhancing children's communication skills through family-centered intervention, caregiver coaching, and collaborative teamwork. Services are delivered in natural environments and emphasize coaching caregivers to support their child's communication across daily activities. This position is primarily remote and requires a productive home workspace located within Washington State. Travel is required, and all eligible travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with OFM guidelines and program requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Build rapport and strong relationships with families and other ESIT team members.
  • Evaluate children ages 0 3 with communication delays and related developmental needs, conduct comprehensive assessments, and gather relevant information to determine eligibility for IDEA Part C early intervention services.
  • Prepare evaluation reports that include assessment findings, communication development, strengths, and areas of concern to support the development of Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs).
  • Collaborate with families and ESIT Providers to develop IFSPs based on identified family's priorities and concerns, routine, and the child's developmental needs.
  • Provide guidance and expertise to ESIT Providers in implementing IFSP outcomes by supporting communication strategies through coaching, consultation, and collaboration.
  • Monitor and adjust support strategies to ensure the implementation of effective, evidence-based communication supports as outlined in IFSPs.
  • Facilitate joint home visits with ESIT Providers to provide ongoing support, coaching, and guidance in embedding communication strategies into daily routines within natural environments.
  • Participate in team meetings, contributing communication expertise while supporting a reflective, collaborative, and team-based approach to service delivery.
  • Provide direct early support services to families using a family-centered coaching model, ensuring individualized and functional communication support.
  • Support team learning by sharing strategies related to communication development, including language development, social communication, and feeding.
  • Monitor and adjust support strategies to meet the child and family's changing needs.
  • Plan, conduct, and participate in formal and informal meetings, programs, and activities with families, local school district personnel, and community agencies.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Compile and maintain up-to-date documentation, including evaluation reports, IFSPs, progress notes, and communication logs related to services provided to children and families.
  • Collaborate with families, local school district personnel, and community agencies to support service coordination, continuity of care, and successful transitions.
  • Provide consultation and guidance to team members and community partners regarding communication development, feeding, social communication, and early intervention best practices.
  • Assist in the development of written materials such as procedures, guidelines, and training resources to support high-quality early intervention services.
  • Provide support to school districts (e.g., transition planning, communication development, Part C services and regulations) to ensure alignment with established guidelines and practices.
  • Assist other personnel as needed to ensure an efficient and effective team approach to service delivery.
  • Utilize technology effectively, including proficiency in Google Drive, Outlook, Google Docs, Adobe, PowerPoint, and other relevant tools to support communication, documentation, and collaboration.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt, including the ability to utilize the ESIT Data Management System (DMS) for documentation, tracking, and reporting.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and reflective practices to support continuous growth and improvement.
  • Strive to contribute to a positive, collaborative, and healthy team culture.
  • Adhere to all Board policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and ESIT requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Valid Washington State License as a Speech-Language Pathologist (or ability to obtain prior to start date).

  • Eligibility for ESIT credentialing and ability to complete required ESIT in-service training within 6 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development (birth 3), including communication development, social-emotional development, and family-centered practices.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with young children and families (experience in early intervention, pediatrics, childcare, or related settings preferred).
  • Reliable personal transportation with appropriate automobile insurance and willingness to travel within the service area.
Requires knowledge of:
  • ESIT policies, procedures, and values, or willingness to complete ESIT training and meet state personnel standards within required timelines.
  • Evidence-based early intervention practices, including coaching caregivers, family-centered services, natural learning environments, and inclusive practices
Position Benefits:
  • Access to full benefits (SEBB medical, vision, and dental insurance. WA DRS SERS retirement plan. Medical reimbursement account, Life and Long-Term Disability Insurance etc.).
  • Access to the agency's wellness and employee assistance program
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work from home
  • Paid sick leave (4.8 hours per month)
  • Paid personal leave (9 hours per year)
TRAITS THAT YOU MUST POSSESS:
  • Proactive self-starter. A strong sense of taking the initiative and moving forward without waiting to be told what to do and how to do it.
  • Flexible and can thrive in a fast-paced environment where you may have to wear several hats.
  • Possess confidence while being humble - lack excessive ego or concern about status. Willing to share credit, emphasize team over self and define success collectively rather than individually.
  • Hungry - always looking for more. More things to do, learn, and take responsibility for. Constantly thinking about the next step or opportunity.
  • Smart - have common sense about people. Good judgment and intuition around the subtleties of group dynamics and the impact of your words and actions.
THESE STATEMENTS MUST RESONATE WITH YOU:
  • "Yes, that is possible. Let me handle it, I'll figure it out."
  • "I am not sure, but I will find out for you."
  • "I have not done that before, but I can do it."
  • "I take a see-it, own-it, solve-it, do-it approach."
