Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to clients' needs. This includes taking initial client histories and identifying specific mental and emotional challenges.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing modalities that are suited to enhance client engagement and promote healing.
• Monitor client progress through regular assessments and adapt treatment plans as necessary to ensure the best outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers, such as psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, to create coordinated care strategies.
• Document all client interactions and maintain accurate records using electronic health record systems like AVATAR, ensuring compliance with confidentiality regulations.
• Follow up with clients post-session to assess their progress and modify interventions to prevent relapses and challenges in recovery.
• Support clients' families and caregivers by providing resources and guidance on managing mental health challenges.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear and empathetic interactions with clients and team members.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor, with a genuine desire to help clients navigate their mental health journeys.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor, particularly in outpatient settings.
• Proficiency with electronic health records software, preferably AVATAR.
• Experience working with clients with co-occurring disorders, addiction, or chronic physical health conditions.
• Familiarity with best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• In-depth understanding of psychotropic medications and their effects, obtained through previous practice or education.

Compensation and Benefits
