Senior ServiceNow Developer

Job Overview Deliver highly complex solutions with significant system linkages, dependencies, associated risk. Lead and perform development efforts such as analysis, design, coding/creating, and testing. Bring expertise in ServiceNow products, services, development, bugs, fixes, perform code reviews. Specialty in ServiceNow's ITSM and Mobile products. Build high‑quality, clean, scalable and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.). Work with product owners to understand detailed requirements. Help design and implement new products and features while also enhancing the existing product suite used by multiple business lines. Day‑to‑day involves review, development, testing, defect remediation and implementation of application‑specific development requests. Partner with platform architecture, product owners, and business partners for technical designs and implementation to ensure use cases are met in the most effective manner for the underlying ServiceNow platform. Provide request review and feedback to product owners, including estimated work effort, dependencies and sustainability during prioritization meetings aligning to Truist’s mission and goals. Language Fluency: English (Required) Work Shift: 1st shift (United States of America) Responsibilities Participate in testing, implementation, maintenance, and escalated support of Truist's most complex solutions. Development includes but is not limited to customized coding, software integration, analysis, configuring solutions, or use tools pertinent to the area, project, or system to configure or generate a solution. Ensure adherence to company and industry standards. Provide technical consultation on extremely challenging or unusual situations. Write and run unit tests. Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Use sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions. Complete technical peer review of teammates development efforts, ensuring work is compliant and meets all QA and best practices. Does not have management responsibilities. Position serves as technical expert on the team and is often strongest engineer. In an Agile environment: act as Agile champion. Responsible for delivering high quality working software and automating manual/reusable tasks, consulting with business from the beginning of design work. Leverage continuous engineering practices. Actively participate in refining user stories. Responsible for development and developing unit testing, supporting integration and functional testing. Provide warranty support and knowledge transfer to production support. Develop code in accordance with acceptance criteria established by Product Owner. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and six to ten years of experience or equivalent education and software engineering training or experience. In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices. Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function. Ability to plan and manage projects and solve complex problems by applying best practices. Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates and interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree and ten+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Knowledge of ServiceNow supporting specific applications, technology platforms, programming languages, systems, or business segments. Banking or financial services experience. Knowledge of one or more of the following: Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills. Professional experience building high‑quality apps or services from the ground up and scaling at an enterprise level. Experience with Open Source tools and frameworks. Experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Strong understanding of SOA and/or Open API methodologies and service architectures. Experience using web servers, application containers, caching technologies. Solid knowledge of relational database design and development (SQL, stored procedures, data modeling). Experience with messaging systems (MQ and JMS). Experience with build tools such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins. Proven ability to write comprehensive unit and integration tests.
