Shift Details Staff Nurse – Neurology Med Surg. Full time – Days and/or nights 7:00am–7:30pm or 7:00pm–7:30am. Multiple positions available. Benefits Competitive Compensation $15,000 Bonus (if applicable) Tuition Reimbursement Loan Repayment Program ADN > BSN Funded Sponsorship Program Position Highlights This 48‑bed med‑surg unit cares for medical‑surgical patients and provides advanced neurovascular care for complex patients, including stroke, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, brain and spinal cord tumors, and other neurological conditions. Nurses receive additional neurology training and certifications such as the NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and experience with complex interventions such as lumbar drains. Nebraska Medicine is the region’s only Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center and the highest‑accredited epilepsy treatment center in the area. Job Summary Provide, prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care with other health care providers to meet holistic care needs of a designated group of patients. The environment of care may be long‑term, emergent, critical, acute, interventional, or procedural‑driven. Required Qualifications Associate’s degree in nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required. Demonstrated effective communication skills required. Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or holding a current compact state license required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA) required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – department dependent required. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in patient nursing, specialty/primary care clinic, and/or telephonic care preferred. Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) preferred. Proficiency with email applications preferred. Experience with EPIC or other electronic medical records preferred. Specific to the Medical Call Center department; multi‑state license preferred.
