About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 or 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in large urban hospital License: Valid RN license required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS and CPI preferred Must-Have: - Experience with drips required - Epic charting experience required - Comfortable taking care of behavioral health patient population - Must be prepared to float frequently to meet staffing needs Description: Position offers a 36 or 48-hour work option. Travelers will float as needed. RNs must be ready to float frequently to meet staffing needs. Due to specific events, there are blackout dates for requested time off. The unit has a combination of medical surgical and telemetry patients. Patients may include those recovering from total knee and hip replacements, complicated orthopedic cases, and other varied medical conditions. Floor features secured areas for patients with behavioral health conditions that may be flagged as violent. Training for safety and de-escalation is provided for travelers. Ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with a rare occurrence of 1:7 at night. Travelers are required to work weekends, specifically four weekend shifts in an eight-week period. Required to work two out of three major holidays during the contract. Locals must live over 100 miles from the facility. If a license is pending, travelers may apply but must have it in hand by a certain date. Scrubs are mandatory, with specific guidelines provided upon confirmation. Facility is a nicotine-free environment. All contracts must conclude on a Sunday. Travelers must attend a mandatory charting class during their first week. Requested time off must be submitted at the time of application and may be limited. Patient demographics include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The patient population encompasses a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses. Travelers should be proficient with various medical equipment, including IVs and telemetry monitoring. Documentation must be submitted by a specified deadline prior to the start of the contract. Traveler must provide proof of licensing within a designated timeframe.
