Epic Systems Analyst - HIM (ROI, DT)

Salary: $98,000 - 138,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, healthcare administration, or a related field, plus 1–3 years of experience in system or application analysis, support, or related IT work; healthcare experience is preferred. Alternatively, 5+ years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
• Experience with Epic applications and healthcare workflows, such as clinical, revenue cycle, or healthcare IT workflows.
• Strong requirements-gathering, workflow-design, testing, communication, and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with ITIL, change control, SDLC practices, system governance, and waterfall or agile project methodologies.
• Ability to support small-to-medium initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams, clinical and operational stakeholders, and managed service providers.
• For the Application Training focus: Epic Training Environment Build certification or proficiency, or the ability to obtain it within the required timeframe; at least 1 year of training-environment build or application-support experience. Epic Principal Trainer certification is preferred or may be obtained within the required timeframe.
• For the Application Build focus, preferred: current Epic certification or proficiency in one or more relevant modules; at least 1 year of Epic build or configuration experience, or demonstrated ability to learn and apply build standards quickly; exposure to integrations such as HL7 or FHIR, interface testing, and reporting or data tools such as Clarity, Caboodle, SlicerDicer, Reporting Workbench, or Radar.
• Experience in patient access, billing, coding, finance, or clinical operations is preferred for the relevant modules.
• Desired: ITIL Foundation certification; certification in one or more Epic applications; experience in a large healthcare system, hospital, or with other healthcare applications; knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance; familiarity with AWS or Azure; and experience with business intelligence and analytics tools.

• Gather and refine stakeholder requirements, map existing workflows, and design Epic configurations that support operational goals and policies.
• Maintain specifications, decision logs, design documents, and system documentation; conduct gap analyses for upgrades, regulatory changes, and new initiatives.
• Support small projects and enhancements, participate on project teams, follow established methodologies, and complete assigned work on schedule.
• Create and maintain documentation for configurations, workflows, training materials, and support procedures in accordance with team standards.
• For the Application Build focus, configure Epic records, master files, tools, security, and workflows; maintain environment parity and follow change-control and naming standards.
• Develop and execute unit, integrated, and user-acceptance tests; document evidence, track and resolve defects, validate interfaces and downstream workflows, and confirm regression coverage for upgrades.
• Coordinate releases, environment moves, downtime procedures, upgrades, and patches; provide go-live and post-live support, including rounding, office hours, tip sheets, and at-the-elbow assistance.
• Triage and resolve service requests and incidents within service expectations, documenting work and contributing to root-cause analysis; support Epic and other assigned enterprise applications.
• Work with IT, operations, interface, and analytics teams on integrated workflows, data exchanges, extracts, registries, reporting, data integrity, and consistent metric definitions.
• Support regulatory readiness, audits, policy alignment, privacy and security controls, sensitive-record handling, audit trails, and ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change, and configuration processes.
• For the Application Training focus, help design and deliver role-based training and maintain the CareConnect curriculum, training environments, and readiness activities using established standards.
• Incorporate learner and stakeholder feedback into curriculum improvements and communicate release and upgrade impacts to training stakeholders through approved channels.
• Manage end-user training requests and incidents professionally; triage or escalate as appropriate, document resolutions, identify trends, and recommend preventative and service-quality improvements.
