Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Opportunity Highlights Work/life balance with flexible schedule – 7 shifts per month, 86 shifts annually Full‑time status entails 7–24‑hour in‑house shifts per month Competitive compensation – $1944 per shift Robust benefits including medical, dental, vision, short‑term and long‑term disability, and 403(b) with match Opportunity Details The selected Neonatal Nurse Practitioner will provide assessment, evaluation, and treatment of neonates under the supervision of pediatricians. Additional Job Functions include: Function as the mid‑level provider for newborn patients by: Assessing, planning, and evaluating medical care under the direction of the attending pediatrician Reporting accurately and concisely to the attending pediatrician and in problem‑oriented documentation Ordering and interpreting laboratory data and plain X‑ray film as appropriate Writing appropriate orders for medications, IV therapy, parental nutrition, blood products, and for admissions, transfers, and discharges Attending high‑risk deliveries, resuscitating, and stabilizing patients Stabilizing babies for transport to another hospital system that requires a higher level of care Attending and providing newborn care, resuscitation, and stabilization for all deliveries as required Providing consultation to administrative, nursing, and medical staff Participating in the ongoing competency assessment program for maintenance of advanced neonatal knowledge and skills of nursing staff Participating in nursing education and ongoing competency assessment Initiating and pursuing self‑development activities through readings, lectures, and formal educational programs Participating as appropriate in quality improvement and the formulation, revision, and implementation of policies and procedures in the Birth Center Minimum Required Qualifications Successful completion of an accredited NNP program Unrestricted State of Iowa License Experience in a NICU for a minimum of two years Comfortable working independently as only one NNP will be scheduled per shift – covering level II NICU, nursery rounds, attending deliveries, and performing circumcisions BLS, ACLS, PALS certification NRP certification Clinical knowledge, current clinical competences, and analytical abilities necessary to formulate nursing and medical interventions Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians, other health‑care personnel, and visitors Recruitment Package Competitive compensation plan Medical, dental, and vision insurance – benefits start on day one of employment Retirement benefits: 403(b) with company match Short‑term and long‑term disability Professional malpractice coverage with tail coverage CME expense allowance Non‑profit employer, public service loan forgiveness options Please let me know if you would like to be a part of the future of excellent patient care at MercyOne. #J-18808-Ljbffr
