Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology

Med/Surg RN – Registered Nurse

Schedule: Full-Time 3x12s Shifts: Days/Nights variable

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 22 to 26 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week + 2 on-call shifts in 4 weeks

Requirements:

• NYS RN Licensure
• BLS Certification (AHA only)
• ACLS Certification (AHA only)
• NIHSS Certification
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse in a Med/Surg environment

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families based on nursing knowledge and skills.
• Assess patient/family needs and develop an individualized plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide direct care, evaluate patient progress, and coordinate care throughout the patient's episode.
• Educate patients and families on self-care and lifestyle changes to support health and healing.
• Promote comfort and emotional support within a healing environment.
• Document care and education provided and assess patient/family understanding of the information given.

Compliance / Notes:

Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated; tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, and tissues.
