Job Overview:
As the part-time Kitchen Manager, you will oversee the daily operation of the community kitchen and dining program while ensuring an exceptional dining experience for residents and guests. This part-time position is responsible for food preparation, food safety compliance, inventory management, purchasing, meal service coordination, volunteer oversight, catering support, and financial accountability for kitchen operations.
The Kitchen Manager serves as the primary leader of food service operations and works closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure kitchen equipment and facilities remain safe, functional, and compliant. This position also supports community events, meal programs, and other dining-related initiatives designed to enhance resident satisfaction. As the dining program grows and community needs evolve, this role may have the opportunity to expand into a full-time position in the future.
Compensation: $21 - $23 per hour, based on experience
FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Job Responsibilities:
Kitchen Operations
· Oversee the daily operation of the community kitchen and dining program
· Prepare and coordinate meals, special events, catering functions, and community dining activities.
· Manage food preparation, meal service, and kitchen workflow to ensure quality and efficiency.
· Develop and support meal programs, grab-and-go offerings, and other resident food service initiatives.
· Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and customer service
Food Safety & Compliance
· Ensure compliance with all health department regulations, food safety standards, and sanitation requirements.
· Monitor proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature controls.
· Maintain required food service records, permits, certifications, and inspection documentation.
· Coordinate required health, hood, suppression system, and grease trap vendor services.
Inventory & Purchasing
· Manage food, beverage, and kitchen supply inventories.
· Order products and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
· Monitor food costs, inventory levels, and waste to support budget goals.
· Assist with point-of-sale balancing, reporting, and daily administrative functions
Team Leadership & Resident Experience
· Train, supervise, and support kitchen staff and volunteers.
· Provide exceptional service to residents, guests, and community groups.
· Support community events, social functions, and special dining programs.
· Respond to resident feedback and identify opportunities to enhance the dining experience.
Collaboration
· Partner with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure kitchen equipment and facilities remain safe, clean, and operational.
· Communicate equipment, repair, and facility concerns impacting kitchen operations.
· Work closely with the General Manager and community leadership to support operational goals and resident satisfaction.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
· Knowledge of food service, restaurant, catering, or hospitality operations.
· Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements.
· Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
· Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Experience supervising staff and/or volunteers (preferred
· ServSafe Manager Certification or ability to obtain certification (preferred)
Education & Experience
· Two to five years of kitchen, restaurant, catering, hospitality, or food service experience (preferred).
· Previous leadership or supervisory experience (preferred).
Physical Requirements
· Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
· Able to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive motions.
· Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
· Able to safely operate commercial kitchen equipment and tools.
Work Location : Florence, AZ
Work Hours: Part-time position scheduled for 20-29 hours per week , typically Monday through Friday. Work schedules and shift hours will vary based on operational and community needs. Occasional evening and Saturday hours may be required to support community events, special programs, and resident activities.
As the community needs continue to evolve, this position may have the opportunity to transition to a full-time role in the future based on business needs and operational demand.
