Inventory Control Lead

Job Overview The Vault Lead – Precious Metals is responsible for working with the Commodities Supervisor and overseeing day‑to‑day operations of the vault, including management of precious metals and commodities. The role provides guidance to vault staff, trains new and current employees, and identifies opportunities for process improvement. Key Responsibilities Assist in managing vault operations, including check‑in/out, opening and closing the facility, and ensuring compliance with company policies. Allocate work assignments among vault crews and align daily assignments with customer needs. Monitor employee productivity and recommend improvements. Maintain orderly and clean work areas, including walls, tables, cabinets and storage areas. Coordinate daily, weekly and monthly audits of material in the vault. Provide management support and flexible work hours as required. Maintain relationships with branch employees and maintain communication with the Vault Manager and Commodities Supervisor. Participate in interviewing and hiring of new personnel, and provide training for new hires. Schedule staff to meet daily staffing needs. Supervise balancing of customer inventories and perform daily customer report functions. Ensure timely and accurate data entry in BITS (allocation, inbound delivery, location updates, new customer creation). Serve as a backup to the supervisor in pick‑n‑pack operations during vacations or increased workload. Provide support to storage vault staff as needed. Create shipments in ATLAS (LVP, Air Courier, OTR, etc.) and ensure data integrity. Problem‑solve shipment errors and variances during the balancing process. Train and supervise use of postage equipment in the branch. Complete any other duties assigned by Vault Management. Minimum Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in vault operations, precious metals, commodities logistics, supply chain, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of experience using Microsoft Office and Windows applications. Valid firearms permit or ability to pass applicable firearms licensing requirements if required. Valid guard card or ability to obtain a guard card or any other required licenses. Must be 21 years or older. Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods when necessary. Preferred Qualifications Experience in freight forwarding/transportation or a related field. Experience working with a diverse customer base in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment. Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills and ability to collaborate. Working knowledge of import/customs logistics, armored transportation, and related industries. Strong math skills.
