Staff Accountant

Rhodes Osiek Patyk & Company, LLP has been providing tax, accounting, audit, and business consulting services to individuals and businesses since 1979. As our firm continues to grow, we are seeking a Tax Preparer / Staff Accountant with public accounting experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 4 years of public accounting experience with a strong background in bookkeeping, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Role Overview: Accounting Responsibilities -Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities

• Review general ledger activity and account balances
• Reconcile bank accounts
• Prepare and post adjusting journal entries
• Record depreciation and other period-end adjustments
• Confirm and adjust liabilities and loan balances
• Review collections and revenue activity
• Review expenses and supporting documentation
• Reconcile payroll expenses and payroll tax liabilities to payroll reports
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
• Maintain accurate accounting records and workpapers

Tax Season Support - Review and organize client tax documents and supporting information - Assist with preparation of Individual Tax Returns, Partnership Returns, and Corporate Returns Additional Responsibilities - Perform administrative duties as needed

• Work directly with clients and firm personnel
• Assist with special projects and firm initiatives
• Develop professionally within a collaborative public accounting environment

Required Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

• 2 to 4 years of public accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, general ledger concepts, and financial statement presentation
• Understanding of federal, state, and payroll taxation concepts
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to analyze issues, perform research, and apply critical thinking skills
