Pastry Cook

We are seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for pastry-making, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality pastries consistently. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of sweet and savory pastries, desserts, and baked goods in accordance with our recipes and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
• Measure and mix ingredients accurately, following recipes and portion guidelines.
• Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to ensure proper cooking and consistency.
• Ensure that all pastries are presented and plated attractively, adhering to our aesthetic standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen, including equipment maintenance and proper storage of ingredients.
• Assist in inventory management, including ordering and stocking pastry supplies.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new pastry recipes and menu items.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations at all times.
• Provide support during busy periods and special events, as needed.
• Assist other stations as needed.
• Bring all tools and equipment and maintain in proper working order

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role in a professional, high volume kitchen environment.
• A culinary degree or relevant certification from a culinary school is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of pastry-making techniques, baking methods, and ingredients.
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and creativity in pastry presentation and decoration.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• A positive attitude and passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences.
• Food Handler Certificate preferred but not required prior to employment. Certification will be required upon starting employment at company’s expense.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
• Must be able to carry 30 pounds or more
