Neurology Nurse Practitioner – Outpatient Private Practice

The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive outpatient neurological care in a physician-led neurology practice located in Rockville, Maryland. Working in collaboration with the practice neurologist, the NP will evaluate patients, obtain medical histories, perform neurological examinations, manage established neurological conditions, prescribe and monitor medications, order and review diagnostic tests, and provide patient education and follow-up care.

The NP will be responsible for maintaining accurate electronic medical records, coordinating patient care, communicating with patients and healthcare providers, and supporting the efficient daily operation of the practice. The position requires sound clinical judgment, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative medical office.

The Nurse Practitioner must maintain all required Maryland credentials and practice within the scope of their education, certification, and applicable laws and regulations. Complex cases, significant changes in clinical status, and situations requiring additional physician expertise will be referred to the neurologist in accordance with established practice protocols.

The practice is a physician-led outpatient neurology office serving adult and children patients with a broad range of neurological conditions. Dr. Bara-Jiménez provides comprehensive neurological consultations and longitudinal management, with an emphasis on individualized care and continuity with patients.

The practice includes:
General adult neurology, including evaluation of neurological symptoms and disorders.
Cognitive and memory disorders, including assessment and management of cognitive impairment and dementia.
Movement disorders, including tremor and Parkinsonian symptoms.
Seizure and epilepsy evaluation and management.
Headache and migraine management.
Peripheral nerve and neuromuscular disorders, including neuropathy and related conditions.
Sleep-related neurological conditions.
Other complex neurological conditions requiring ongoing specialist management.
Diagnostic testing, including EEG and EMG/nerve-conduction studies.
Long-term follow-up, medication management, and coordination with primary-care physicians and other specialists.
Telehealth services, when clinically appropriate.
The practice has a small-office, personalized model, with Dr. Bara-Jiménez directly involved in patient care rather than functioning as part of a large hospital-based neurology group. The practice also has experience caring for a significant Medicare and Medicaid patient population.
