We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support an organization in Sarasota, Florida. This role will focus on financial reporting, month-end close activities, account analysis, and partnering with operational teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules as part of the month-end and year-end close process.

• Assist with financial statement preparation, variance analysis, and internal reporting to support business operations and leadership decision-making.

• Review transactions and accounting activity to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning processes by providing accurate financial data and analysis.

• Partner cross-functionally with operations, asset management, and leadership teams to maintain alignment on financial performance and reporting needs.

• Analyze account activity and investigate fluctuations or discrepancies to identify trends and recommend solutions.

• Assist with process improvements, workflow enhancements, and automation initiatives to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls.

• Support audits, special projects, and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Demonstrated experience in month-end close activities, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance.

• Strong background in account reconciliation and bank reconciliation processes.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems used for reporting and transactional accounting.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities.

• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.

• Experience with forecasting.
