Sr. Controls Technician

Field-based HVAC/Controls Technician responsible for commissioning, programming, testing, and servicing projects on customer sites. Responsibilities Commission, program, and set up control graphics. Perform end-to-end testing, troubleshooting, and servicing of HVAC/Controls equipment. Document point-to-point verification, sequence of operations validation, and job close-out requirements. Complete daily paperwork, maintain project files, and submit required reports on time. Act as the primary customer contact, ensuring satisfaction through diagnosing and repairing systems. Keep current on Trane product installation, operation, maintenance, and repair procedures. Enforce safety standards and responsible handling of company assets. Inspect and maintain vehicles and mobile equipment, record service schedules. Maintain tools and equipment, inspecting for wear. Provide training and follow-up training at the customer site. Travel as required, including occasional overnight stays, and work overtime or weekends as needed. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent, or completion of an accredited technical school. At least 7 years of experience in HVAC/Controls (DDC controls preferred). Technical training or formal HVAC education is preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office and handheld computer (smartphone, iPad). Valid driver’s license with a clean record for 12 months (no major traffic violations, DUI, hit & run, suspended license, reckless driving, or multiple minor infractions within the past 3 years). Experience with DDC controls: point-to-point verification, programming, sequencing, commissioning, graphics, and reading mechanical drawings/submittals. Ability to operate rental equipment (e.g., scissor lifts, boom lifts). Strong communication skills and customer focus. Capability to lead and motivate others and enforce quality installation. Willingness to learn new HVAC technologies and systems. Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate: $27.69 – $51.49.
