Position Overview

\n

The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and documentation of all incoming and outgoing shipments. This individual supports the maintenance, accuracy, and proactive planning of all customer shipments. Reports to the Shipping & Receiving Manager.

Summary of Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Prepares transportation bills, load authorizations, packaging slips, and any other necessary documentation required for shipments; contacts various consumers and brokers to coordinate pickups
\n
• Records shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes
\n
• Contact carrier representatives to plan for shipping and receiving materials
\n
• Resolves internal and external issues to ensure department is efficient in meeting customer needs
\n
• Communicates the coordination of and instructions for shipping and receiving materials with carrier representatives
\n
• Approaches the coordination of shipping methods to encourage the least amount of environmental impact possible
\n
• Compiles and prepares import/export reports and documents
\n
• Regularly communicates any safety or job-related concerns

• Other duties as assigned

Required Characteristics

\n

\n
• High school diploma or equivalent required; similar role experience a plus
\n
• Fluency in both English and Spanish preferred (read, write, speak)
\n
• Excellent oral and written English language communication skills
\n
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)
\n
• Ability to quickly and accurately input data into various computer software applications
\n
• Demonstrated flexibility to multi-task and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
\n
• Able to fulfill flexible scheduling requirements as determined by the manager and / or business needs of the operation
