Finance Project Manager

Overview Location: South Chicago/NW Indiana (Relocation or Travel Support Available) Schedule: Full-time | On-site Monday-Friday (Required) We're proud to be supporting one of North America's leading Industrial Real Estate owners as they continue to expand their General Contracting division, delivering a major pipeline of hyperscale Data Center projects across North America. As part of this growth, we're looking for an experienced Financial Project Manager to oversee the financial performance, forecasting, and commercial controls across large-scale mission-critical construction projects. Previous Data Center construction experience is essential, and candidates must be available to work on-site Monday-Friday. The Role Working closely with Project Executives, Project Managers and Operations you'll be responsible for managing the financial health of multiple Data Center construction projects from pre-construction through to final closeout. This is a highly visible role requiring strong commercial awareness, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to provide accurate financial reporting to senior leadership. Key Responsibilities Lead all project financial management activities across multiple Data Center projects. Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports. Monitor project performance against budget and identify financial risks and opportunities. Manage cost forecasting, earned value reporting, and cash flow projections. Review subcontractor commitments, purchase orders, invoices, and payment applications. Track project contingencies, allowances, and change orders. Partner with Project Managers and Project Executives to improve project profitability and financial performance. Produce monthly financial reports for executive leadership. Support project audits and ensure compliance with internal financial controls. Analyse cost trends and recommend corrective actions where required. Assist with project closeout, reconciliations, and final financial reporting. What We're Looking For We're keen to speak with Financial Project Managers, Project Controls Managers, Cost Managers, or Commercial Managers who possess: Proven Data Center construction experience (essential). Experience working for a General Contractor on large-scale construction projects. Strong understanding of construction financial management and project controls. Experience managing project budgets exceeding $50M+. Knowledge of forecasting, cost reporting, earned value management, and cash flow analysis. Experience reviewing contracts, subcontractor costs, change orders, and procurement. Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP or project financial systems. Experience using Procore and construction management software is highly desirable. Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work collaboratively across Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership. Availability to work on-site Monday-Friday. Preferred Background Candidates may come from backgrounds including: Project Controls Cost Management Commercial Management Construction Finance Experience within Data Center , Mission Critical, Industrial, Semiconductor, Pharmaceutical, or Advanced Manufacturing construction environments is highly desirable.
