Safety Coordinator

IAD, Virginia Safety Coordinator leads and ensures all safety guidelines, effective safety standards, processes and procedures are adhered to while enforcing and meeting all company and government regulation standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversee adherence to safety procedures in airport operations. Performs routine inspection of airplane turnarounds, baggage handling, cleaning, and cargo services activity. Perform risk assessments as required. Conduct safety observations and provides corrective action to mitigate hazards and risks. Enters inspections and incidents into the database, issue weekly incident report lists and assist in developing safety related reports. Advise leadership on trends and provide solution-based recommendations to maintain a safe operational environment. Supports incident investigations and claims reporting. Supports safety initiatives and procedural requirements to ensure that the workforce behaviours are compliant with company expectations. Coordinate with station trainer to ensure training compliance Will be a super-user for the safety hub database entering incident, compliance and corrective action information. Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. Can meet the Station’s attendance policy. Work on special projects as assigned.
