APMs are responsible for overall project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting, and control, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards and applicable laws and regulations. The descriptions below are representative of, but not limited to, the duties and responsibilities for this position.Five Key Roles of the Assistant Project Manager:Develop project budget based on the bid estimateLead the internal hand-off of each new project to the General Superintendent and project SuperintendentPrepare monthly cost-to-complete projections for each managed projectDevelop and control the material submittal logPrepare subcontracts for review by Senior PMEssential Duties & Responsibilities:Review material quotes and develop Purchase Orders at or below estimate costsInteract and develop relationship with client during the preconstruction and construction phaseContinually expanding knowledge and use of industry best practices and innovationSolving problems, as they arise, by using available knowledge and resources together with collaborating with experienced internal managementProvide direction to the field Superintendent when necessaryOther relevant tasks as assignedEducation, Experience & Qualifications:A Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, or equivalent in training and experienceAt least 3 years of construction experience and knowledge of civil construction practicesAt minimum, a basic understanding of standard civil construction equipmentAt minimum, a basic understanding of the order of operation of civil field activitiesExcellent communication and organizational skillsExcellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals.Knowledge of Procore would be very helpful, Microsoft products specifically Microsoft Project.Travel:Travel is required for this position. Travel may include, but is not limited to, travel from office to various job sites. Fessler and Bowman will compensate for travel when applicable.Work Environment:As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be subject to various work environments.
