Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Towson, Maryland. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 12 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) RN located in the healthcare providers facility. This position involves providing specialized care for postoperative cardiac surgery patients immediately following surgery and managing complex cardiac conditions. The role requires adaptability to unit needs, including rotating shifts and floating to other units within the scope of practice. Job Details Position Description: CVICU RN with 2 years of experience required; accepting first-time travelers with CVICU experience. Certifications & Education Requirements: MD RN license, BLS, CPI, and ACLS certifications required. NIHSS and OCN certifications preferred. Schedule: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The shift schedule may include rotating 11:00 to 23:00 shifts based on unit needs. Additional Responsibilities: Cover weekends every third weekend, participate in holiday coverage, and float to Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU) as needed. Clinical Responsibilities: Care for postoperative cardiac surgery patients, including those with open chest, ECMO, Impella, CRRT, IABP, and other advanced cardiac procedures. Actively manage hemodynamic instability, cardiac output, coagulopathy, and complex medications during the first 6 hours post-op. Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience with relevant patient management skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with direct care of open heart patients immediately post-op, and familiarity with Epic charting system. Submission Requirements: Must be eligible with current compliance documentation, including labs within 72 hours of start date, and submit all required nursing certifications.
